II. DEACONS ON PURGING THE LODGE

Senior Deacon

1. Rises when addressed by SW.
2. Takes rod from the stand after SW gives order.
3. Comes to attention.
4. Steps Off.
5. Makes a right turn on border of North pavement or when in line with it. Walks along border of North pavement.
6. Stops in N-W corner of pavement, facing West, rod at attention.
7. Makes a left face, rod still at attention, as JD faces him.
8. Steps off.
9. Stops when meeting JD in front of West, rod at attention.
10. Makes a right face as JD faces West, both facing SW, rod at attention.
11. After receiving SW's order, makes a right face as JD turns left.
12. Steps off. Makes a right turn on N-W corner of pavement.
13. Proceeds to N-E corner along border of North pavement. Comes to attention facing East. Does an about-face.
14. With rod in pass, inspects the brethren from the East end down to the West end of the Lodge room. (If he finds any brother who has no right to sit in the Lodge or whose right is open to question, he faces him, places rod at attention, and asks him to rise and remain standing).
15. Return to N-W corner of pavement when his purging is completed, facing South, rod at attention.
16. Waits until JD is on S-W corner of pavement.
17. Steps off. Stops when meeting JD in front of West, rod at attention.
18. Makes a right face as JD faces West, both facing SW, rod at attention.
19. Gives his report to SW. Waits until JD makes his.
20. After JD has made his report, makes a right face as JD turns left.
21. Steps off. Makes a right turn on N-W corner of pavement, walks along border of North Pavement.
22. Makes a left turn when opposite his place.
23. Stops in front of his seat, rod at attention.
24. Makes an about face, returns rod to the stand together with JD.
25. Sits down together with JD.

Junior Deacon

1. Rises when addressed by SW.
2. Takes rod from the stand after SW gives his order.
3. Comes to attention.
4. Steps off. Walks in square. Goes to S-W corner of pavement, facing East, rod at attention.
5. Makes a left face, as SD faces him, rod at attention.
6. Steps off. Stops when meeting SD in front of West, rod at attention.
7. Makes a left face as SD faces West, both facing SW, rod at attention.
8. After receiving SW's order, makes a left face as SD turns right, Steps off
9. Makes a left turn on S-W corner of pavement.
10. Proceeds to S-E corner along border of South pavement. Comes to attention, facing East.
11. With rod in pass, inspects the brethren from East and down to West end of the Lodge room. (If he finds any brother who has no right to sit in the Lodge, or whose right is open to question, he faces him, rod at attention, and asks him to rise and remain standing).
12. Returns to S-W corner of pavement when his purging is completed, facing North, rod at attention.
13. Waits until SD is on N-W corner of pavement.
14. Steps off, stops when meeting SD in front of West, rod at attention.
15. Makes a left face as SD faces West, both facing SW, rod at attention.
16. Gives his report to SW after SD has given his.
17. After reporting, makes a left face as SD turns right.
18. Steps off, makes a right turn on S-W corner of pavement.
19. Proceeds to his place. Stops in front of his seat, rod at attention.
20. Makes an about-face. Returns rod to the stand together with SD.
21. Then sits down together with SD.
