Minutes 26 May 1971

A Special Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1 F&AM was held in the Masonic Temple Yokohama, Japan on the 26th Day of May, 1971.

The Grand Master, Most Worshipful Bro. Floran L. Quick, opened the Lodge in adequate form at 19:50 hours with Bro. Watters in the West and Bro. Evans in the South, the Grand Master then called the Lodge free from restraint at 19:59 hours.

The Lodge was again called to order at 20:10 hours with Brother Steinheimer in the East, Bro. Watters in the West and Bro. Evans in the South.

At 20:20 hours The Grand Master accompanyed by Right Worshipful Bro. William Strachan, Deputy Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland, Australia, and other Grand Lodge officers were recieved with grand honors.

Right Worshipful Bro. Strachan presented Most Worshipful Bro. Quick with a special gavel and a volume of the history of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland as a token of the friendship and mutual esteem that now exists between our two Grand Lodges.

Most Worshipful Bro. Quick responded with appropriate remarks of appreciation, and presented Right Worshipful Bro. Strachan with a copy of The First 100 Years of Masonry in Japan, after which the Lodge was called free from restraint to permit photographers to enter and take pictures of the presentations and visitors.

Worshipful Bro. Williams presented Right Worshipful Bro. Strachan another copy of The First 100 Years of Masonry in Japan to be given to Right Worshipful Bro. Bullock, on his return to Queensland, Right Worshipful Bro. Bullock is the Grand Lodge Representative of Japan near the United Grand Lodge of Queensland.

The Lodge was again called to order and Right Worshipful Bro. Strachan spoke on many items of interest and expressed his appreciation for the wonderful reception and on his return to Queensland, he would convey fraternal greeting to his Grand Master, M.W. Bro. His Excellency The Hon. SIR ALAN JAMES MANSFIELD, on behalf of The Grand Master of Japan, the Grand Lodge Officers, and the Master and Brethren of Far East Lodge 1.

Peace and harmony prevailing, Most Worshipful Bro. Floran L. Quick closed the lodge in adequate form at 21:25 hours, with Bro. Watters in the West and Bro. Evans in the South.
