Minutes 8 September 1971

The 418th Special Meeting of Far East Lodge No 1, F&AM was held at the Masonic Temple No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-cho Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 8th day of Sept. 1971.

A lodge of Entered Apprentice Masons was opened in due and ancient form at the order of the Wor. Master in the East at 19:00 hours with Wor. Bro Vanvig in the East, Wor. Bro. Nishiyama in the West and Bro. Chun in the South.

The Worshipful Master then received with Grand Honors Very Worshipful Bro. Masato Shibasaki, Grand Lecturer of The Grand Lodge of Japan. Also he recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date.

The First Degree of Masonry was conferred on Mr. Carl Arthur Bandy in due and ancient form with Wor. Bro. Vanvig in the East, Bro Nishiyama in the West and Brother Chun in the South.

Mr Bandy knocked on the door at 1935 hours, was admitted at 1940 hours and obligated at 19:55 hours.

Bro. Riffle delivered the Lambskin Apron. Bro. Somerville presented the Working Tools.

The Second Section of this Degree was conferred on our newly obligated Bro. in due and ancient form with MW Bro. Nielsen in the East, Bro. Nishiyama in the West and Bro. Chun in the South.

Bro. Riffle gave the Lecture.

Very Wor. Bro. Shibasaki delivered the Charge.

Very Wor. Bro. Shibasaki congratulated the Candidate and the Officers and Brethren of Far East Lodge # 1, and spoke briefly on other subjects of Masonic Interest. Most Wor. Bro. Nielsen responded with appropriate remarks.

Peace and harmony prevailing the Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at the order of the Wor. Master in the East at 21:35 hours. with Most Wor. Bro. Nielsen in the East, Wor. Bro. Nishiyama in the West and Bro. Chun in the South.
