The 420th Special Meeting of Far East Lodge No 1, F&AM was held at the Masonic Temple No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-cho Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 22nd day of Sept. 1971.
A lodge of Fellow Craft Masons was opened in due and ancient form at the order or the Wor. Master in the East at 19:00 hours, with Wor. Bro. Vanvig in the East, Brother Riffle in the West, and Bro. Somerville in the South.
This Lodge was convened for the purpose of conferring the Second Degree of Masonry on the following Entered Apprentice Mason: Carl Arthur Bandy
The Lodge was lowered to the First Degree for the purpose of hearing the proficiency of Bro. Bandy, at 1920 hours.
The Wor. Master reconized the distinguished Brethren as registered in the Tiler's Record of this date. Also visiting: Bro. Earl Russel.
Bro. Bandy was examined and found proficient in the First Degree by Brother Somerville.
Labor in the Fellow Craft Degree was resumed at 19:45 hours.
The Second Degree of Masonry was conferred on Bro. Carl Arthur Bandy in due and ancient form with Wor. Bro. Vanvig in the East, Bro. Riffle in the West, and Bro. Somerville in the South.
Bro. Bandy knocked on the door at 20:00 hours, was admitted at 20:03 and was obligated at 20:10 hours. The Working Tools were presented by Bro. DeYoung.
The Second Section of this Degree was conferred on our Newly Obligated Brother in due and ancient form with Wor. Bro. Vanvig in the East, Brother Riffle in the West, and Brother Somerville in the South.
Wor. Bro. Williams gave the Staircase Lecture. Wor. Bro. Vanvig gave the Letter 'G' Lecture, Wor. Bro. Williams delivered the Charge.
Peace and harmony prevailing the Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at the order or the Wor. Master in the East at 21:30 hours, with Wor. Bro. Vanvig in the East, Brother Riffle in the West and Bro. Somerville in the South.
