Minutes 4 October 1972

The 185th Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F&AM, was held at the Masonic Temple No. 3 Yamate-Cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 4th day of Oct, 1972. A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:30 hours, with Bro. Riffle (acting WM) in the East, W Bro. Robertson (acting SW) in the West and Bro. Chun (acting JW) in the South.

The WM recognized the distinguished Brethren present as listed in the Tiler's register of this date.

Worhipful Bro. Floyd B. Jimerson being present was received with Grand Honors and seated in the East. Wor. Bro. Jimerson is the Grand Lodge Inspector for Far East Lodge No. 1.

The WM announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of October, the first order of business would be the reading of the Minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent meetings. The Minutes were approved as corrected.

The next order of business was the Treasurer's report, and it was accepted as read.

The next order of business was the report of the several committees:

HOUSE: Neg.

CHARITY: Neg.

PUBLICATIONS: Bro. Riffle reported the next edition of the F.T.s for Aug., Sept., and Oct., was being condensed and would ready soon.

COACHING: Bro. Alvarez reported working with Bro. Smith and he should be ready by the 3rd. Wednesday.

AUDITING: Neg.

SICK AND VISITATION: Neg.

JOBS DAUGHTERS: Bro. Alvarez reported recruiting drive underway by Job's Daughters at present.

ENTERTAINMENT: Neg.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP: Neg.

The following petitions to receive the Degrees of Masonry in Far East Lodge No. 1, were read.

PETITIONS TO BE BALLOTTED: NONE

The WM read the appropriate Articles and Sections of the By-Laws of the Lodge and Grand Lodge Code of Builders pertaining to the Election of New Officers as required.

He also announced that the 18th of Oct. would be Past Master's Night and the candidate for that evening would be Bro. Denis L. Philippe.

The Secretary presented the Bills for the Month of Sept. Wor. Bro. Nishiyama moved and Bro. Chun seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED

Bro. Riffle appointed Bros. Chun, Tayama and himself as members of the Building Committee.

The Secretary read communications concerning Job's Daughters and an invitation to the installation of Officers in Kokusai Lodge No. 16.

Wor. Bro. Jimerson addressed the Lodge and gave verbal instructions on the proper way to receive Grand Lodge Officers, also he spoke on using the monitor in open Lodge. He then congratulated the Wor. Master on having VERY EFFICIENT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS. He also promised to procure copies of a paper he had written concerning his thoughts on a strong, active and progresive Lodge and that he would be present at any Lodge of Instruction to assist in any way if requested.

There being no further business to come before this Lodge of Master Masons, the Wor. Master announced that the Lodge would proceed to close.

Peace and Harmony prevailing the Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 21:20 hours with Bro. Riffle (acting WM) in the East, MW Bro Robertson (acting SW) in the West and Bro. Chun (acting JW) in the South.
