The 196th Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F&AM, was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-Cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 7th day of November, 1973.
A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:30 hours with Bro. Alvarez (acting WM) in the East, Bro. Hodges (acting SW) in the West and Bro. Dunning (acting JW) in the South.
The WM recognized the distinguished Brethren and first-time visitors as listed in the Tiler's register of this date. He then read Art No. 2, Sec. 1, of our Lodge By-Laws and Arts. 100, 100A, 100B, of Grand Lodge Constitution and Bye-laws.
The WM then announced that the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings.
The Secetary read the minutes and they were approved as corrected.
The next order of business was the Treasurer's Report. Bro. Campbell read the report and it was approved subject to the usual audit.
Next order of business was the report of the several committees:
HOUSE: Bro. Hodges reported on oar rental and items of interest concerning the property.
ENTERTAINMENT: The WM congratulated Bro. Henderson on the fine arrangements for the 25th anniversary dinner, and Bros. Zalewski and Reifenstein on the preparation along with Bro. Mahnke for the beautiful decorated cake. MW Bro. Robertson lead a round of applause for all the Brethren mentioned.
CHARITY: NEG.
DeMOLAY: NEG.
PUBLICATIONS: Bro. Hodges reported Friendly Tips should be ready to print next week. Bro. Alvarez reported all Brethren had been mailed a copy of 25th Anniversary Booklet, and he had enclosed a request for a donation of $2.00 with each copy to help defray the cost of publication.
COACHING: Bro. Campbell reported Bro. Clark progressing slowly, Bro. Mahnke reported Bro. Watson should be ready next week.

The Secretary read a letter from Bro. Godsey. Dale R. requesting that he be re-instated to good standing.
The Secretary read the bills for the month of October, Bro. Hodges moved, Bro. Poll seconded that the bills be paid. Carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: NONE.
NEW BUSINESS: Bro. Poll moved, and W Bro. Williams seconded, that the name of Bro. Alvarez be submitted to the Grand Lodge for consideration to receive the Grand Lodge Diploma of Merit, for his oustanding work in editing compiling and publishing the 25th Anniversary Booklet for Far East No. 1. MW Bros. Peck and Robertson concurred. The Motions Carried.
Bro. Poll moved, W Bro. Williams seconded that a Masonic Library be established for Far East Lodge No. 1, to be financed from individual contributions. After general discussion it was voted and Carried. Bro. Zalewski donated $100.00.
MASONIC EDUCATION: MW Bro. Peck announced that Lodge Star in The East No. 640 would have installation of new officers on 20th November, at 18:00 hours. Attended by the District Grand Master, Grand Lodge of Scotland. Also that he had visited with W Bro. Rodriquez, the Grand Master of Masons, MW Bro. Weatherman, MW Bro. Neilson and. W Bro. Al Voyce, on his recent trip to the USA. He also informed all of the library available to all at the Grand Lodge in Toyko. MW Bro. Peck volunteered to speak on Masonic Education on the 4th Wednesday of each month.
Bro. Alvarez announced that on the 14th of November we would have a Second Degree for Bro. Clark and on the 21st we would have a Third Degree for Bro. Mayer. Also that he had visited Lodge Star in the East No. 640 on the 30th of October and presented the WM a photograph of some of the Lodge Brethren taken some (90) years ago.
There being no further business to come before this Lodge of Master Masons the Worshipful Master announced that the Lodge would proceed to close.
