The 210th Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F&AM, was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-Cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 8th day of January, 1975.
A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:30 hours with Bro. Hodges (WM Elect) in the East, Bro. Mason (SW Elect) in the West and Bro. Bartelson (JW Elect) in the South.
The WM first wished everyone a Happy New Year and then recognized the distinguished Brethren present as listed in the Tiler's register of this date.
He then read a letter informing of the death of Bro. Earl E. Kessel LM No. 32, and requested all to be upstanding in order that we might pay our respects to the memory of Bro. Kessel.
He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of January, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent special meetings.
The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as corrected.
The next order of business was the Report of the several committees:
HOUSE: Bro. Poll reported that Lodge No. 640 had approved paying their full share of the cost of repairing the Temple, and that the parking situation was fairly straight now. Also property tax will be paid tomorrow.
ENTERTAINMENT: The WM appointed Bro. Bartelson as Chairman of the Entertainment Committee.
DeMOLAY: NEG.
JOB'S DAUGHTERS: NEG.
PUBLICATIONS: Bro. Lambert reported that he was working on next issue, and requested anyone having items of interest to please let him have them. Also he now has some items of Masonic jewelery for sale.
COACHING: Bro. Poll reported working with Bro. Vaughn, and Bro. Alaback reported Bro. Ohkawa was not available at present and Bro. Lambert reported working with Bro. Korman.
AUDIT: NEG.
SICK & VISITATION: NEG.
LAPSATION & LM: W Bro. Williams reported no new Life Members, however 2 Brethren scheduled to be dropped for NPD had sent dues and therefore would be scratched from the list to be dropped.
CHARITY: NEG.
SIGHT ASSISTANCE: Bro. Alaback reported that the Japanese Goverment was taking care of one child and that the parents of another had for some reason refused to accept help for their child. However he will keep trying. Also will contact two other schools. Shin-Yokohama, and Hiratsuka.
BALLOTING: Secret balloting was held on the below named Brother and he was elected to become a dual member of Far East Lodge No. 1.

PETITIONS READ: Petitions to receive the 3 Degrees of Masonry in this lodge were read for the following:
Mr. LIVERNOIS, William John
Mr. McGEORGE, Arden James
The WM directed that the applications take their normal course of action.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The WM appointed Bro. Vernon A. Diel as Tiler, and announced that other appointments would be forthcoming. He also reminded all of the installation of officers on 1 February, 1975 begining at 17:00 with the banquet at the Officers Club starting at 19:00 and that there would be a rehearsal on the 29th of Jan.
NEW BUSINESS: Bro Alaback reported on the Kotobuki Needy persons, Bro. Hunt read a letter of appeal for donations, clothing, etc. and moved that we expend Yen 20,000 to be given thru the Church of Christ to assist in this matter. The motion was seconded by Bro. Poll and CARRIED.
The WM read the dates of installations for other lodges. Bro. Bartelson volunteered bo make a list of those Brethren in the area and telephone numbers if possible.
There being nothing further to come before this lodge of Master Masons the WM announced that we would proceed to close.
