The 233rd STATED MEETING of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 1st day of December 1976.
A Lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 19:30 hours with Bro. ALABACK, SW, (Acting) WM in the East, WB WILLIAMS, PM, (Acting) SW in the West, and Bro. McGOWAN, JW, in the South.
The WM recognized the distinguished brethren as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of December 1976, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of the last Stated Meeting and all subsequent special meetings.
The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read.
Next was the Treasurer's Report given by Bro. NEGRANZA. It was moved by WB HODGES and seconded by WB DeLUNA that the Treasurer's Report be approved as read, subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED
The Secretary than read the bills for the period and WB WILLIAMS moved and Bro. McCOWAN seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED
Next was the report of the several committees:
HOUSE: Nothing to report.
ENTERTAINMENT: WB HODGES reported that Installation Committee would soon be finalizing food and beverage menu for Installation Banquet. No problems are anticipated.
DeMOLAY: Nothing to report.
PUBLICATIONS: Nothing to report.
EXAMINATION & RECEPTION: Nothing to report.
MEMBERSHIP: Nothing to report.
COACHING: Bro. McGOWAN reported that Bro. FERRER would he ready for his Third Degree proficiency on 15 December 1976.
AUDITING: Bro. ALABACK reported that the Secretary's and Treasurer's books were audited through 31 October 1976 and that there were no discrepancies.
SICK & VISITATION: WB WILLIAMS reported the death of Bro. George KOMAR last week.
MWB ROBERTSON reported on the condition of MWB HORUCHI who is in the hospital recovering from the effect (not serious) of some medication given during his recent illness.
LAPSATION: WB HODGES read the names of the members to be suspended on 31 December 1976 for NPD if at least their 1975 dues have not been received. Those members are:
WB HODGES then read the names of two EAs who are being dropped due to non-progression. They are:
LIFE MEMBERSHIP: Nothing to report.
CHARITY: WB HODGES moved and WB WILLIAMS seconded a motion that the Lodge donate ¥31,000 to the Japan Times Crippled Children's Fund. MOTION CARRIED
SIGHT ASSISTANCE: Nothing to report.
LODGE SYSTEM OF EDUCATION: Bro. ALABACK reported all readings up to date.
LIBRARY: Nothing to report.
BALLOTTING: None.
RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: None.
CORRESPONDENCE: Bro. ALABACK read two letters from the GM as follows
WB HODGES then read the following correspondence from the Brethren &/or other:
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: Bro. ALABACK read the appropriate sections of the By-Laws and GL Constitution pertaining to election of Lodge Officer. He then announced that we would now hold elections for Lodge Officers for the ensuing Masonic year and the following Brethren were elected to serve in the positions indicated as follows:

WB WILLIAMS then congratulated the newly elected and appointed officers and wished all a most successful year.
MWB Shigeru NISHIYAMA, GM, then thanked the Brethren and extended his most sincere thanks to Bro. ALABACK not only for his dedication and support of Far East Lodge No. 1 but also for his enthusiasiam and dedicated support of the Grand Lodge and its various programs, especially that of the Sight Assistance Program. The GM wished Bro. ALABACK God-speed on his new assignment and to ever remember that the love and respect of all those who remain go with him.
The WB then announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of Master Masons, we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, this lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 21:20 hours with Bro. ALABACK, SW, (Acting) WM in the East, WB WILLIAMS, PM, (Acting) SW in the West, and Bro. McGOWAN, JW, in the South.
