Minutes 6 December 1978

The 256th STATED MEETING of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 6th day of December 1978.

A Lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 1930 hours with WB DeLuna, WM in the East, Bro. Redman, SW in the West, and Bro. Sketo, (Acting) JW in the South.

The WM recognized the distinguished Brethren (and first time visitors) as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of December, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of the last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings. Appointed Bro. Medley, Secretary Pro-tem for the month of December.

The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read/corrected.

Next was the Treasurer's Report given by Bro. Zalewski. It was moved by Bro. Redman and seconded by Bro. Barrs that the Treasurer's Report be approved as read, subject to the usual audit.

A check bounced and the Sec. was to write a letter. MOTION CARRIED.

The Secretary then read the bills for the period and Bro. Redman moved and Bro. Barrs seconded that the bills be paid. Bills totaled ¥524,137. MOTION CARRIED.

Next was the report of several committees: the WM said the tonight being election night we would skip some of them.

PAY OF MEMBERS: Will be covered under new business.

REFRESHMENT/ENTERTAINMENT: A list of names will be taken tonight of those who will attend the installation banquet.

COACHING: Bro. Redman reported that Bro. Forbes would be ready the last meeting in January 79. Bro. Lamm would be ready the 3rd week of January 79. There was no feedback on Bro. Nakayama.

MASONIC EDUCATION/LODGE HISTORY: The WM ask that it be entered in the lodge history that a Masonic Funeral was held in the Temple for WBR.

BALLOTING: Bro. Byron Dean Brown was elected for dual membership and was obligated at 2040 hours.

Bro. Edward Edwards was elected for dual membership.

Mr. Harry Wallace Clark was elected for the Degrees. Add to monthly report.

RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: A petition was read on Mr. Lonn Allen Judy for the Degrees.

CORRESPONDENCE: A letter was read from Bro. Loria E. Havens requesting a demit from the lodge. Demit to be prepared by the Secretary.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The WM read Articles 2 Sections 1 & 2 of the By-laws and Articles 100, 100a, 100b, 100c, 100d and Edict No. 8 of the Constitution as required in Oct. Nov. Dec. each year.

NEW BUSINESS: The Secretary read a list of those Bro. who had not paid their dues in two (2) years, and all voted that they be suspended (NPD).

The WM then announced we would proceed to hold election of officers for the next year.

The Lodge was called briefly from labor to refreshment so that the newly elected officers could decide on those officers to be appointed. The appointed officers are:

The WM then announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of Master Masons we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, this Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 2325 hours with WB DeLuna WM in the East, Bro. Redman SW in the West, and Bro. Sketo (Acting) JW in the South.
