The 618th SPECIAL MEETING of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-Cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 24th day of January, 1979.
A Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:00 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs WM in the East, Bro. Millard C. Sketo JW (Acting SW) in the West, and MWB Floyd Robertson (acting JW) in the South.
The WM recognized the distinguished Brethren and first time visitors present as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date.
He then announced that this Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons had convened for the purpose of conferring the Second Degree of Masonry on the following named Entered Apprentice Mason:
Bro. CLARK, Harry Wallace.
but before doing so we would lower the Lodge to the First Degree in order to listen to his proficiency in that Degree.
The Lodge was then lowered to the First Degree and we listened to the proficiency of the above named Brother and he was pronounced proficient upon completion by the WM. Bro. Sketo conducted the examination.
The Lodge was then raised to the Fellowcraft Degree from the Entered Apprentice Degree at 19:40 hours. And the Second Degree of Masonry was conferred upon Bro. CLARK, Harry Wallace, with WB Barrs in the East Bro. Sketo, JW, acting SW in the West, and MWB Robertson (acting JW) in the South.
The Working Tools were presented by Bro. Sketo.
The Second Section of this Degree was conferred on our newly obligated Brother with WB Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Sketo, JW, (acting SW) in the West and MWB Robertson (acting JW) in the South.
The WM congratulated the Candidate, Bro. Clark and the officers for their work this evening. Bro. Bright congratulated Bro. Clark also, and extended fraternal good wishes from the Master and Brethren of Yokosuka No. 20. The WM announced that next week would be a lodge of instruction and if there was nothing further we would proceed to close.
Peace and Harmony prevailing this Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons was closed in due and ancient form at 21:30 hours with WB Barrs, WM, in the East, Bro. Sketo, JW, (acting SW) in the West and MWB Robertson (acting JW) in the South.
