The 621st SPECIAL MEETING of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-Cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 28th day of February, 1979.
A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:20 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Millard C. Sketo, SW elect in the West, and WB Saburo Katagiri, JW elect the South.
The WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren present as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He then announced that this Lodge of Master Masons had convened for the purpose of raising to the sublime Degree of Master Mason the below named Fellowcraft:
Bro. CLARKE, Harry Wallace.
But, before doing so we would listen to his proficiency in the Fellowcraft Degree and, at the sound of the gavel, labors in this Lodge of Master Masons was suspended and a Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons was opened.
The above named Brother was examined and found proficient in the Fellowcraft degree by the WM.
After congratulating Bro. Clarke on his fine proficiency the WM called the Brethren briefly free from restraint. At which time Bro. Clarke withdrew from the Lodge.
At the sound of the gavel in the East the WM declared labor in the Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons closed and labors in the Lodge of Masters Masons resumed.
Bro. CLARK, Harry Wallace, was obligated as a Master Master WB Jack C. Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Millard C. Sketo, SW elect in the West, and WB Saburo Katagiri, JW elect the South.
The WM then briefly called the Lodge free from restraint, and it being High Twelve the WM called the Craft from labor to refreshment for the purpose of raising to the sublime Degree of Master Mason the following named Brother:
CLARKE, Harry Wallace.
Bro. Clarke was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason with WB Jack C. Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Millard C. Sketo, SW elect in the West and WB Saburo Katagiri, JW elect in the South.
The WM presented Bro. Clarke with the Apron, Monitor, Lapel Pin and Bible.
The WM then informed Bro. Clarke, he had preference over all others to address the Lodge. Bro. Clarke responded appropriately.
The WM then announced that there being nothing further to bring before this Lodge of Master Masons that we would proceed to close.
Peace and harmony prevailing the Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 22:55 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Millard C. Sketo, SW elect in the West, and WB Saburo Katagiri, JW elect the South.
