The 625th SPECIAL MEETING of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-Cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 18th day of April 1979.
A Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:15 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs WM in the East, WB Thomas H. Hodges (acting SW) in the West, and WB Saburo Katagiri JW in the South.
The WM recognized the distinguished Brethren present as listed in the Tiler's register of this date.
The Secretary then read a letter from Bro. H. T. Meyer announcing the recent death of our Brother Ansel F. Poundstone. The WM requested the Brethren to be upstanding for a moment of silent prayer in memory of Bro. Poundstone.
At the sound of the gavel in the East labor in this Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons was suspended and a Lodge of Entered Apprentice Masons was opened for the purpose of listening to the Proficiency of the First Degree by the following named Brother:
ROHRER, Francis Robert.
The examination was conducted from the East by WB Jack C. Barrs and on completion the WM pronounced Pro. Rohrer proficient in the First Degree.
The WM asked the Brethren to join him in giving Bro. Rohrer a round of applause for his fine proficiency, after which he requested the SD to conduct Bro. Rohrer from the Lodge room.
At the sound of the gavel in the East, the Lodge of Entered Apprentice Masons was closed and labor in a Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons resumed for the purpose of conferring the Second Degree upon the following named Brethren:
ROHRER, Francis Robert. FORBES, Joseph Edward.
The above named Entered Apprentice Masons were obligated as Fellowcraft Masons with WB Jack C. Barrs WM in the East, WB Robert L. Williams (acting SW) in the West and WB Saburo Katagiri JW in the South.
The Working Tools were presented by WB Jack C. Barrs.
The Second Section of this degree was conferred on our newly obligated Fellowcraft Masons with WB Jack C. Barrs WM in the East, WB Robert L. Williams (acting SW) in the West and WB Saburo Katagiri JW in the South.
The WM then asked the Brethren to join him in congratulating our two newly passed Fellowcraft Masons, after which he announced that next week would be a Lodge of Instruction and that there being nothing further we would proceed to close.
Peace and harmony prevailing this Lodge of Fellowcraft Masons was closed in due and ancient form at 21:55 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs WM in the East, WB Robert L. Williams (acting SW) in the West and WB Saburo Katagiri JW in the South.
