The 628th SPECIAL MEETING of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-Cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 20th day of June 1979.
A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:00 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Millard C. Sketo, SW in the West, and WB Saburo Katagiri, JW in the South.
The WM extended recognition to those Brethren present who had distinguished themselves in Masonry as listed in the Tiler's register of this date.
He then announced that this Lodge of Master Masons had convened for the purpose of listening to the proficiency of the below named Master Mason:
Bro. ROHRER, Francis Robert.
The examination was conducted by Bro. Sketo, after which the WM pronounced Bro. Rohrer proficient and congratulated him on his fine progress. Bro. Rohrer was given a hearty round of applause by all.
The WM then held brief discussion concerning Independence Day celebration to be held on Sunday July 1, from 11:00 am until dark and also our next meeting would be opened by special dispensation at 12:00 hours on 4th July with a picnic following in the afternoon. No meeting next week.
There being nothing further to come before this Lodge of Master Masons the WM announced we would proceed to close.
Peace and harmony prevailing this Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 20:10 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Millard C Sketo, SW in the West, and WB Saburo Katagiri, JW in the South.
