The 265th STATED MEETING of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 1st day of August 1979.
A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 19:30 hours with WB Jack C. Barrs, WM in the East, Bro. Millard C. Sketo, SW in the West, and WB Saburo Katagiri, JW in the South.
The WM extended recognition to those Brethren who had distinguished themselves in Masonry and first time visitors as listed in the Tiler's register of this date, and presented cards to first time visitors.
He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of August the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings.
The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read.
The financial report was postponed due to the illness of our Treasurer Bro. Matthew Zalewski.
The Secretary then read the bills for the period and WB Hodges moved and Bro. Sketo seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
Next was the report of the several committees:
CHARITY: WM reported that we would hold a picnic for a Japanese orphanage next month, final arrangements to be made later.
PAY OF MEMBERS: WB Williams reported still working on list of delinquent members, should be ready shortly.
REFRESHMENT & ENTERTAINMENT: Bro. Rohrer reported the Harmony Fund presently stands at $314.90 and Yen 13,300. Several cases of Coke still to be paid for. Also sales from July 14th amounted to approximately $100.00 excess.
FRIENDLY TIPS: WM reported next issue running a little late but should be out next month with final edition going out in December.
COACHING: WM reported Bro. Forbes still pending.
SICK & VISITATION: WB Williams reported Bro. Matthew Zalewski in Keio University Hospital in Tokyo undergoing extensive tests and that he was still in pain.
MASONIC EDUCATION: No report.
AUDIT: No report.
TEMPLE TRUST FUND: WM reported the fund is in good shape.
HOUSE: WM reported no meeting had been held, however, the assessment for the 3rd quarter for all bodies would be excused. He commended Bro. Sketo for his diligent work in helping to make this possible.
BALLOTING: NONE.
PETITIONS: A petition to receive the Degrees of Masonry in this lodge was read for Mr. EUGENIO, Reynaldo Galman, Sr.
CORRESPONDENCE: Requests for Demits of the following were received:
The Secretary read an encouraging letter from Bro. Noel J. Paine along with a $100.00 donation.

NEW BUSINESS: Bro. Sketo reported on Bon-Odori activity to be held on 17-18-19 August beginning at 16:00 hrs and encouraged all Brethren to come and pitch in.
The WM requested the following named Brother to place himself West of the Altar for the purpose of listening to his proficiency in the Third Degree:
Bro. JUDY, Lonn Allen.
The examination was conducted by Bro. Sketo, after which the WM pronounced Bro. Judy proficient and presented him his proficiency card. Bro. Judy was congratulated by the WM and given a hearty round of applause by all.
There being nothing further to come before this Lodge of Master Masons the WM announced that we would proceed to close.
