Minutes 3 December 1980

The 281st Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F.&A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff ,Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 3rd day of December 1980. A Lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 1930 hours with WB Katagiri, WM in the East, MWB Nishiyama, SW in the West and Br. Ohashi, JW in the South.

The WM recognized the distinguished Brethren and first time visitors present as listed in the Tiler's register of this date. He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of December, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our Stated Meeting for the month of November and all subsequent Special Meetings. The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read. The Secretary then read announcements concerning the death of Brothers Arthur Y. Imamura and Homer S. Gentry after which the WM called for a moment of silent prayer in memory of our departed Brethren.

The WM announced that since our annual elections would be held tonight, the regular order of business would be suspended insofar as possible in order that we might expedite the election of officers for the coming Masonic year.

The Secretary read the bills and WB Hodges moved and MWB Yamada seconded that we pay our just debts. MOTION CARRIED.

The Secretary then read the required Grand Lodge Bulletins for the months of October and November, the appropriate sections of the By-laws and Constitution regarding the election of officers, and several announcements concerning upcoming events.

The WM then asked MWB Yamada and Br. Brown to act as Tellers for the election of officers. The Following Brethren were elected and appointed to serve the Lodge in the office indicated for the ensuing Masonic year:

There being no further business to come before this Lodge of MMs,the Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 2127 hours with WB Katagiri in the East, MWB Nishiyama in the West and Br. Ohashi in the South.
