Minutes 13 December 1980

The 650th Special meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F.&A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 3 Bluff, Yamate-cho, Yokohama, Japan on the 13th day of December 1980.

A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 1610 hours with WB Saburo Katagiri in the East, Br. Ohashi in the West and Br. Otani in the South.

The WM announced that this Special meeting had been called for the purpose of installing the officers of this Lodge, recently chosen, in an open installation ceremony whereupon he called the Lodge from labor to refreshment for that purpose.

MWB Floren L. Quick greeted the officers and guests at 1815 hours. He made a few brief and appropriate remarks of welcome and explanation. He then received the Deputy Grand Master, RWB Hayao Onishi, and accompanying Grand Lodge Officers in due and public form. Next, MWB Quick recognized other visiting distinguished Brothers and invited them to sit in the East as appropriate.

MWB Quick then proceeded with the public ceremony of installation with WB Barrs assisting as Master of Ceremonies and the following officers of this Lodge were installed in turn for the ensuing Masonic year:

After the appropriate proclamation was made by the Master of Ceremonies, the WM made a few brief remarks and thanked all who had attended as well as MWB Quick and WB Barrs for their assistance in performing the installation. He then invited RWB Onishi to make closing remarks, at which time RWB Onishi conveyed the Grand Master's greetings and his regrets that he was unable to attend due to two installations being held at the same time on this date. He also congratulated the newly installed officers and made a few closing remarks pertaining to Masonry in general.

The Lodge was then closed in due and public form at the request of the WM.
