Minutes 12 April 1986

The 330th Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 250, Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 12th day of April 1986.

A Lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 1425 hours with WB Hunt, PM, WM in the East, WB Otani, JW, (Acting) SW in the West, and WB Ohashi, TR, (Acting) JW in the South.

The WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of April 1986, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of the last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings.

The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read.

Next was the Treasurer's Report given by WB Hodges. It was moved by WB Hodges and seconded by WB Ohashi that the Treasurer's report be approved as read, subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED

The Secretary then read the bills for the period and WB Hodges moved and WB Otani seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED

Next was the report of the several committees:

CHARITY: WB Hunt submitted a negative.

SICK AND VISITATION: WB Hunt reported that MWB Nishiyama, PGM, still is not doing well and that we should visit and call him at every opportunity.

REFRESHMENT AND ENTERTAINMENT: Nothing to report but he called on WB Spiwak to advise the Brethren of the planned "Ladies Night" scheduled by Lodge Star in the East No. 640, S.C.

FRIENDLY TIPS: WB Hodges suggested that he prepare a "Roster Issue" for publicaton as soon as possible and that WB Hunt would prepare his remarks for publication in a subsequent issue. WB Hunt approved the suggestion and requested WB Hodges to proceed.

COACHING: Nothing to report.

MASONIC EDUCATION/LODGE HISTORY: Nothing to report.

AUDIT: Nothing to report at this time.

INVESTMENT: Nothing to report at this time.

HOUSE: Nothing to report.

BALLOTTING: WB Gustav R. Swanson, PM, was elected a Dual Member of this lodge by the Members present.

RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: None.

CORRESPONDENCE: The Secretary read the Feb and Mar 1986 issue of the GL Bulletins. WB Hunt read the GM's letter on the Annual Children's Festival after which WB Hodges moved and WB Ohashi seconded a motion that the lodge donate ¥30,000 to the Festival. MOTION CARRIED

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.

NEW BUSINESS: None

After appropriate remarks by RWB Wertheimber and WB Spiwak, the WM then announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of MMs, we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, this Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 1535 hours with WB Hunt, PM, WM in the East, WB Otani, JW, (Acting) SW in the West, and WB Ohashi, TR, (Acting) JW in the South.
