Minutes 23 August 1986

The 332nd Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A. M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 250, Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 23rd day of August 1986.

A Lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 1936 hours with WB Hunt, PM, WM in the East, WB Otani, PM, JW, (Acting) SW in the West, and WB Ohashi, PM, TR, (Acting) JW in the South.

The WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of August 1986, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of the last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings.

The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read.

Next was the Treasurer's Report given by WB Hodges. It was moved by WB Hodges and seconded by WB Ohashi that the Treasurer's report be approved as read, subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED

The Secretary then read the bills for the period and WB Hodges moved and WB Otani seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED

Next was the report of the several committees:

CHARITY: WB Hunt submitted a negative.

SICK AND VISITATION: WB Ohashi reported on the condition of MWB Nishiyama, advising that his health has improved considerably and that he anticipates being able to attend the September 86 stated meeting.

REFRESHMENT AND ENTERTAINMENT: WB Otani submitted a negative.

FRIENDLY TIPS: WB Hodges reported on the status of the FTs. Upon completion, he moved and WB Ohashi seconded that the lodge purchase a 1 year subscription to the Short Talk Bulletin published by the Masonic Service Association for each member of the lodge at a cost of $2.50 per US and APO/FPO addressee and $3.50 per members residing outside the US. MOTION CARRIED

COACHING: WB Hodges submitted a negative.

MASONIC EDUCATION/LODGE HISTORY: A negative report was submitted.

AUDIT: WB Hodges reported on his finding with regard to the Treasurer's records as a result of his efforts to reconcile the records. No apparent discrepancies were noted.

INVESTMENT: Nothing to report at this time.

HOUSE: WB Hodges submitted a negative.

BALLOTTING: None.

RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: The Secretary read the petition for the degrees of Masonry in this lodge submitted by Mr. William George Phillips. After which the WM ordered the petition to run is usual course.

CORRESPONDENCE: The Secretary read the GM's Proclamation concerning Demolay and the GL Bulletins for May, June and July 1986.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.

NEW BUSINESS: None

The WM then announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of MMs, we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, this Lodge was closed in due and ancient form at 2035 hours with WB Hunt, PM, WM in the East, WB Otani,PM, JW, (Acting) SW in the West, and WB Ohashi, PM, TR, (Acting) JW in the South.
