Minutes 14 January 1995

The 421st Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F.&A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 250 Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan on the 14th day of January 1995.

A Lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 14:28 hours with WB Watanabe, PM, WM in the East, WB Katagiri, PM, SW in the West, and Bro. Welsh, JW in the South.

The WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of January 1995, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of the last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings.

The Acting Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as corrected.

Next was the Treasurer's report given by WB Hodges. It was moved by WB Hodges and seconded by WB Heath that the Treasurer's report be approved as read, subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED.

The Acting Secretary then read the bills for the period and Bro. Warnell moved and WB Heath seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.

Next was the report of the several committees:

CHARITY: Nothing to report.

SICK AND VISITATION: WB Katagiri provided an updates on Bro. Masaki's and WB Ohashi's medical conditions. He stated that Bro. Masaki hopes to attend lodge next month. WB Hodges provided an update on WB Hunt's medical condition.

REFRESHMENT AND ENTERTAINMENT: Nothing to report.

FRIENDLY TIPS: Nothing to report.

COACHING: Nothing to report.

MASONIC EDUCATION/LODGE HISTORY: Nothing to report.

AUDIT: Nothing to report.

INVESTMENT: Nothing to report.

HOUSE: Nothing to report.

BALLOTTING: Nothing to report.

RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: Nothing to report.

CORRESPONDENCE: The Acting Secretary read the GLOJ Monthly Bulletin for December 1994 and page E-14 of the Constitution.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Nothing to report.

NEW BUSINESS: WB Watanabe advised that the date of our next scheduled Stated Meeting is February 11th, a Japanese holiday. He suggested we reschedule the meeting for 18 February and the Brethren agreed.

At 1455 hours, WB Watanabe declared the Lodge free from constraint until the sound of the gavel in the East.

At the sound of the Gavel in the East at 15:30 hours, WB Watanabe recognized the Distinguished Brethren present, seating RWB Yamaya, DGM, in the East, and introducing the Installation Officer and Grand Secretary, MWB Ditto, PGM, who proceeded to install the following named Brethren in the offices indicated:

At 16:33 hours the Lodge was called free from constraint to congratulate the newly appointed Brethren.

At the sound of the gavel in the East, WM Welsh passed his gavel to MWB Ditto and asked that he close the Lodge. MWB Ditto closed the lodge in short form at 16:47 hours.

There were 11 Brethren present, 4 of which were visitors.
