The 482nd Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F.&A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple, No. 250 Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan, on the 11th day of November 2000.

A lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 1418 hours with WB Herrera, WM, in the East, MWB Heath, PGM, SW, in the West, and MWB Watanabe, GM, JS, Acting JW in the South.

The WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren and first time visitors as listed in the Tyler's Register of this date. He then announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of November 2000, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last stated meeting and all subsequent special meetings. The Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as corrected.

Next was the report of the several committees:

With the exception of the following, all Committee reports were negative:

SICK AND VISITATION: WB Herrera reported that the wife of Bro. Marigundon is recovering from an infection acquired at the time of the birth of their child. She is doing well and is being treated on an out patient basis.

INVESTMENT: WB Hodges recommended we consider investing a sizable portion of the funds in our checking account at Citibank in a Time Deposit. While it will not earn much, it will earn more than it does in the checking account. Action deferred to new business.

BALLOTING: None.

RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: None.

CORRESPONDENCE: The Secretary read the G/L Bulletin of 20 October 2000; an email from Mrs. McGuire thanking the lodge for its donation; and a letter from Lodge Star in the East No. 640 concerning the annual installation of officers of that lodge. WB Herrera advised he would canvas the members to determine who will attend the installation beside himself, MWB Heath and WB Welsh.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: WB Herrera read articles 100, 100a, 100b, 100c and 100d of the Constitution and Article II, Sections 1 and 2 of the lodge By-Laws.

NEW BUSINESS: MWB Heath moved and WB Hodges seconded a motion that ¥3,500,000 be transferred to a 90 day time deposit with Citibank. MOTION CARRIED.
