The 523rd Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. &A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple located at 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 4th day of December 2004.
A lodge of MMs was opened in due and ancient form at 1415 hours with WB Herrera, PM, WM in the East, WB Masaki, PM, SW in the West, and Bro Mendoza, JW, in the South.
The WM then recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tyler’s register of this date, and then he announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of December 2004, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings. The Acting Secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read.
The Treasurer then gave his report after which he moved and it was seconded that the report be accepted as read, subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED.
The Acting Secretary then read the bills for the period after which he moved and it was seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
Next was the report of the several committees: All committee reports were negative with the exception of the following:
CHARITY: WB Herrera reported that he delivered some of Turkey, Pizza Pies and other items to orphanage Christmas party this morning hours before attending our Stated meeting today since the party falls on the Meeting.
INVESTMENT: Acting Secretary reported that we received half yearly statement from Elite International Bond in which stated that Cash-in value on 31 October 2004 is ¥7,529,132.31.
BALLOTTING: None
RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: None.
CORRESPONDENCE: The acting secretary read the G/L Bulletins of 20 November. Also he shows the Minutes of the November Executive Committee meeting to the brethren and said that those who have interested please approach to the Secretary desk to read.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Acting Secretary also reported that the Lodge of Sorrow for MWB Heath and RWB Harlan was conducted on 27 November at the Blue Lodge Hall in Grand Lodge. Some pictures of the ceremony had been burned onto a CD by the GL so anybody who would like to look please say so.
WM Herrera then read Section II, Article 1 and 2 of our Lodge By-Laws.
Acting Secretary reported that Bro Goro Murata will be suspended for non-payment for dues on 31 December 2004, unless the payment is received on that date.
NEW BUSINESS: MWB Katagiri explained the situations of Kyoto Masonic Lodge No. 5 now facing especially financial problems. Motion to donate ¥30,000 to the Kyoto lodge has been made and seconded. MOTION CARRIED.
WB Herrera, WM of this Lodge appointed to MWB Watanabe to be a Teller and declared that the annual election of officers would be held. The following names of brethren were elected to the office indicated.

The lodge was briefly free from restraint to be made appointing officers and ask for MWB Jim Johnston’s convenience to be Installing Officer.

The Installation ceremony will be held on 11 December 2004 starting at 1530 hours by MWB Jim Johnston as Installing Officer and MWB Watanabe as Installing Marshal. As for the Banquet, brethren have chosen Restaurant TIFFIN.
The WM then announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of MM’s we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, this lodge was closed at 1630 hours with WB Herrera, PM, WM in the East, WB Masaki, PM, SW in the West, and Bro Mendoza, JW in the South.
