A Special Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F&AM was held at the Masonic Temple, 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 30th day of June 2007.
A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 13:15 hours with WB Buda, PM, acting WM in the East, MWB Katagiri, PGM, acting SW in the West, and MWB Watanabe, PGM, acting JW in the South.
The WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren present as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He then announced that this lodge had convened for the purpose of conferring the Second Degree of Masonry upon Bros. Tei and Tatara.
At 13:20 hour, the Lodge was lowered to the First Degree for the purpose of a First Degree Proficiency test upon Bro Tei. The test was conducted by MWB Watanabe and the WM of this Lodge declared him proficient in the First Degree.
At 13:35, the Lodge was passed to the Second Degree for the purpose of conferring the Second Degree upon Bros Tei and Tatara, both EAs.
At 13:50, they gave three distinct knocks on the door and were admitted into the Lodge and obligated Fellow Crafts by Bro Sagara. Bro Honda gave the Working Tool Lecture and the Degree Lecture (Staircase and ‘G’ Lecture) was given by MWB Watanabe. The Charge was delivered also by MWB Watanabe. All lectures and the Charge were given in Japanese.
The Lodge was then called briefly free from restraint at 15:25 for the purpose of congratulating our newly passed brethren.
At 15:35 hour, the Lodge resumed labor in the 3rd degree and the WM proceeded to close.
Peace and harmony prevailing, the Lodge was closed at 15:40 hours in short form with WB Buda, PM acting WM in the East, WB Katagiri, PGM acting SW in the West, and Bro Honda, acting JW in the South.
There were 10 Brethren (including 2 FCs) present and one potential petitioner joined us during harmony.
Regrets were received from Bros Masaki, Tsujii, Inomata, Wachi, Jackson, Tsuruyiannis and Herrera.
