A Special Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F&AM was held at the Masonic Temple, 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 27th day of June 2009.
A Lodge of Entered Apprentices was opened in due and ancient form at 13:15 hours with WB Buda, PM, WM in the East, Bro Inomata, SW in the West, and Bro Tatara, acting JW in the South.
The WM welcomed the visiting Brethren and was honored by the presence of three distinguished visitors: RWB Donald Smith, Senior Grand Warden, VWB Anand Murti, Senior Grand Lecturer, and WB Donald Zamora, Grand Lodge Inspector for Far East Lodge No. 1. VWB Murti and WB Zamora were received with Grand Honors. WB Buda invited all three Brethren to join him in the East.
In addition to our three distinguished visitors, the Lodge welcomed first-time visitor Bro David S. Watson of DeMolay-Land Lodge No. 22. WB Buda presented him with the customary commemorative card.
He then announced that this lodge had convened for the purpose of conferring the First Degree of Masonry upon Mr. Jason Kraker and Mr. Masumi Ishibashi.
The Conferral of the First Degree of Masonry was conducted entirely in English. WB Buda gave the Obligation, MWB Watanabe the Apron Lecture, Bro Sato the Working Tools, and Bro Sneathern the Lecture of the First Degree. At the conclusion of the ceremony, RWB Smith delivered the Charge to the Lodge's newest Entered Apprentice Masons.
Before closing the Lodge, WB Buda invited our distinguished visitors to say a few words. They responded with appropriate remarks and made some comments.
The WM then announced that there being nothing further to come before this Lodge of Entered Apprentice Masons, we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, the lodge was closed in due and ancient short form at 15:50 with WB Buda, WM in the East, Bro Inomata, SW in the West and MWB Watanabe, acting JW in the West.
There were a total of 19 brethren present of whom 13 (including 2 candidates) were members of this Lodge and 6 were visitors.
