The Special Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F&AM was held at the Masonic Temple, at 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 30th day of January, 2010.
A Lodge of Master Masons was opened in due and ancient form at 13:15 hours with Bro Sagara, acting WM in the East, MWB Watanabe, PGM, acting SW in the West, and WB Buda, PM, JW in the South.
The WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren present as listed in the Tiler's Register of this date. He welcomed WB Watanabe, PM of Yuai Lodge No. 11 for his first visit to this Lodge. He then announced that this Lodge had convened for the purpose of conferring the First Degree of Masonry upon Mr Yamada and Mr Suzuki.
At 13:30 hours, the Lodge was lowered to the First Degree and the conferral started. After giving three distinct knocks on the door candidates and were admitted into the Lodge and obligated Entered Apprentices by Bro Sagara. Bro Taniuchi gave the Apron Lecture, and the Working Tool Lecture was given by Bro. Tatara. The Lodge was then called briefly free from restraint for the purpose of an intermission before the second part of conferral.
The Second Section was started with 3 knocks given at 14:50. Bro Tsujii gave the Degree Lecture and the Charge was delivered by MWB Watanabe. All Lectures and the Charge were conducted in Japanese.
A notable feature of this particular conferral was the number of younger Brethren who volunteered to perform lectures in Japanese for the benefit of the Japanese candidates.
At the conclusion of the meeting, WB Watanabe, GJD and Secretary of Yuai Lodge No. 11 thanked the WM and Brethren of Far East Lodge No. 1 for welcoming him and invited all members of this lodge to their Initiation Ceremony to be held on February 25.
The Lodge resumed labor in the MM degree after the FCs and newly obligated EAs had retired from the room at 15:30 hours.
The Lodge proceeded to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, the Lodge was closed at 15:35 hours in short form with Bro Sagara, acting WM in the East, MWB Watanabe, PGM, acting SW in the West, and WB Buda, PM, JW in the South.
There were a total of 16 Brethren (including 2FCs, 2EAs and 2 visitors) present. Regrets were received from Bros Honda, Sneathern, and Wachi.
