The 591st Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple located at 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 2nd day of July 2011.
A lodge of MM's was opened in due and ancient form at 13:00 hours with WBro Inomata, WM in the East, Bro Sagara, SW in the West, and Bro Tsujii, JW in the South.
WM then recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tyler's register of this date.
And he announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of July 2011, the first order of Business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meeting. The Secretary read the minutes of our Monthly Meeting held on 6 and 25 June (Special meeting) were APPROVED AS READ.
The treasurer report for the month of June reported by the Secretary due to the absence of Treasurer which he moved and it was seconded that the report accepted as read subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED.
The Secretary then read the bills for the period after which he moved and it was seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
Next was the report of the several committees: All committee reports were negative with the exception of the followings:
RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: From Mr. Asa D. Kim, US Navy Lieutenant, is in charge of Negishi Heights Housing Area.
BALLOTTING: WM of the Lodge reported that the Committee of Investigation had submitted a favorable report on the petition of Mr. Yoshiyuki Miyauchi and he then elected to receive the degree of Masonry in this lodge by ballot of the member present.
CORRESPONDENCE: The secretary announced the Monthly Bulletin of 25 June had tapped on the Bulletin Board and received a letter from GM in which he thanked for our wonderful hospitality and friendship on his visitation to this Lodge.
CHARITY: Amount of ¥5,800 was collected from brethren present.
SICK AND VISITATION: Negative report.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
AMEMDMEMT OF LODGE BY-LAWS: This subject had been discussed on several meetings and the Secretary presented a draft copy for amendment to brethren present. After discussed on this subject and concluded that the annual dues of this lodge will be three times (3X) of the GL Head Tax and the Initiation Fee will be amend to 60,000 yen and the Life Membership Fee will amend as well. The Secretary will make petition for amendment to submit to GL by September Meeting for election.
NEW BUSINESS:
DISTRESS SIGNAL FROM Ms LINDA: WB Jimmie Warnell (Master of this Lodge 1996/97) wrote following;
I must make you aware of Linda's condition. I had not talked to her since attending Tom's funeral in March of last year. I was shocked when she told me just now that she too has cancer. She just had both breasts removed and is on chemotherapy. She also just lost her job and is in very bad financial condition with doctor's bills, medicine, taking care of her daughter (she is a single mother). Regards, Jimmie
I did introduced this to brethren present and I made a motion to donate to her 50,000 yen from Benevolent Fund and some additional from members present after discussion and introduction about WB Tom Hodges. Since members present do not know him in person. The motion had carried and we had collected totally 11,200 yen.
TO PURCHASE MASONIC BIBLE: We have only 2 Bibles left on hand so I made motion to purchase through Macoy 12 each which cost us 312.00 USD plus shipping charge. The motion had carried by unanimous votes.
SUMMER TIME BBQ: We are scheduled to have a Summer Time BBQ on August 27 reported by Bro Tsujii, JW. The details such as Time, Place and Fee will be announced shortly.
COMING CONFERRAL SCHEDULE: WM announced following plans:
On Sep. 24, MM conferral upon Bro Shea Erickson and Bro Shunji Suzuki in Special Meeting.
On Oct. 29, EA conferral upon Mr. Miyauchi and Mr. Kim by Special Meeting.
On Nov. 5, FC conferral upon Bro Hoshi and Bro Mukai after the Monthly business.
LAPEL PIN FOR VISITING BRETHREN: Bro Tomio Ogawa donated well-designed pins for visiting brethren to this Lodge. WB Inomata thanked for his donation.
LODGE OF INSTRUCTION: Specially, Deacon's movement on Opening and Closing and Grand Hailing Sign conducted by WB Inomata.
CLOSING: At 15:50 hours, there being no other business from the West, South, Secretary's desk or floor of the Lodge, WM Inomata then going to close the Lodge.
Peace and harmony prevailing, this lodge was closed at 16:00 hours with WB Inomata, WM in the East, Bro Sagara, SW in the West, and Bro Tsujii JW in the South.
There were total 9 MMs attended and 1 FC, 2 EAs and 3 potential candidates were during harmony.
Regrets had received from WB Buda, Jordan, Sneathern, Tamado, and Adams.
