The 600th Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple located at 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 12th day of May 2012.
A lodge of MM's was opened in due and ancient form at 13:00 hours with WB Sagara, WM in the East, Bro Tsujii, SW in the West and WBro Inomata, JW in the South.
By the 3 distinct knocks from outside and Tyler informs us that VWB Tsoshiya Watamabe, SGL of GL of Japan visited us. WM ordered to Marshal to escort him to the Altar and the Lodge received him by Grand Horner.
Then, WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tyler's register of this date.
And he announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of May 2012, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meeting. The Secretary read the minutes of Stated Meeting on April 7. They were APPROVED AS READ.
The Treasurer's report, Bro Tomio Ogawa, Treasurer reported April report and after which he moved and it was seconded that the report accepted as read subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED.
The Secretary then read the bills for the period after which he moved and it was seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
Next was the report of the several committees: All committee reports were negative with the exception of the following:
CHARITY: Alms in the amount of 10,863 Yen were collected.
RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: The secretary announced that we received a petition on degree of Masonry from Mr. Tatsuro Hayashi with initiation Fee. He announced his name, age, residing address, and his occupation as for information to member.
CORRESPONDENCE: GL Monthly Bulletin of Apr. 21 had tapped on the Bulletin Board in the Conference room and also he introduced letters (1) from GL: WB Eibu Kojima, #11 appointed an Inspector for this lodge, (2) from GM, requested special dispensation granted as #7-12 for changing meeting date and (3) from GL, about coming Children Festival.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
WM Sagara spoke that total 13 brothers and candidate of this Lodge will participate the festival in this year.
And Bro Secretary made a motion to donate 30,000 yen for the Festival and seconded and the MOTION CARRIED.
NEW BUSINESS:
At 13:55 hours, the lodge lowered to FC degree.
At 14:20, by three distinct knock on the door by Bro Miyauchi and Bro Kim and were admitted into the Lodge and obligated a Fellow Craft. Bro Taiki Ogawa gave the Working Tool Lecture, the Stair Case Lecture by Bro Tatara and G Lecture was by WBro Sagara. The Charge had delivered by MWB Watanabe. All lectures and charge were given in English.
The Lodge was then called briefly free from restraint at 16:15 for the purpose of congratulating our newly passed Brother.
At 16:30 hour, the Lodge had back to duty and resumed the MM degree for closing. VWB Watanabe, SGL spoke about foot position of dueguard on different degrees. Our Bro Ed Lawson spoke that he is a happy to be back and joined a meeting of his own Lodge and WB Nakano, #15 spoke that Ekiden run will be scheduled on 3rd June at Yokota AB. On which #15 is going to raise a Scholarship from entrée fee of runner. And Bro Secretary introduced to member present that this meeting is 600th Stated Meeting.
Peace and harmony prevailing, the Lodge was closed at 16:40 hours in short form with WB Sagara, WM in the East, Bro Tsujii, SW in the West, and Bro Inomata, PM, JW in the South.
There were 16 MMs and 2 FCs of this Lodge and two visitors.
Regrets had received from Bros Mukai, Ishibashi, Adams and Honda.
