The 601 Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple located at 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 2nd day of June 2012.
A lodge of MM's was opened in due and ancient form at 13:00 hours with WB Sagara, WM in the East, Bro Tsujii, SW in the West and WBro Inomata, JW in the South.
Then, WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tyler's register of this date.
And he announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of June 2012, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meeting. The Secretary read the minutes of Stated Meeting on May 12. They were APPROVED AS READ.
The Treasurer's report, Bro Tomio Ogawa, Treasurer reported month of May report and after which he moved and it was seconded that the report accepted as read subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED.
The Secretary then read the bills for the period after which he moved and it was seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
Next was the report of the several committees: All committee reports were negative with the exception of the following:
CHARITY: Alms in the amount of 5,834 Yen were collected.
RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: None.
BALLOTING FOR PETITION: WM of the Lodge reported that the Committee of Investigation had submitted a favorable report on the petition of Mr. Tatsuo Wada and he then elected to receive the degree of masonry in this lodge by ballot of the member present.
CORRESPONDENCE: GL Monthly Bulletin of May 26 and ECM minutes on Apr. 21 had tapped on the Bulletin Board in the Conference room. And the Secretary introduced a thanking letter from chairman of Children Festival Committee for our participation and donation.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
WM Sagara reported that total 13 brothers and candidates of this Lodge assisted the festival in this year.
And Bro Secretary reported that a lady of MWB Katagiri had passed on Apr. 12, father of Bro Tamado passed on May 11 and father of Mr. Wada passed on May 12.
NEW BUSINESS:
Bro Mukai, raised at a Special Meeting in March and the youngest MM in our Lodge, elected to take his MM proficiency exam, which he passed with flying colors.
COMING SCHEDULE:
Bro Secretary announced that we were in receipt of a duly completed application from Mr. Tatsuro Hayashi. This application having been published in the Grand Lodge Monthly Bulletin, we could go ahead with the usual investigation and hopefully ballot on Mr. Hayashi's petition at our July 7 meeting. Assuming that the ballot on Mr. Hayashi's application is favorable, we could then go ahead with a First Degree conferral on Mr. Wada and Mr. Hayashi, welcoming them into our lodge before our summer break.
BEFORE THE CLOSING:
Bro Kitahara, a member of Tokyo Masonic Lodge No. 2 and also of the Children's Festival Committee, attended our meeting and gave a report on this year's festival, thanking the members of Far East Lodge No. 1 for their support in both manpower and financial donations. He reported that the festival was a great success and was attended by some 900 people.
Bro Honda reported that he received a complaint from Garbage cleaning company and they ask us to put a kitchen garbage and empty can or plastic bottle separately into two bags. How to throw illustrative drawing had placed on kitchen wall for brethren on both of #640 and #1.
CLOSING:
The WM then announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of MM's and so we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, this lodge was closed at 15:00 hours.
We had 11 MMs and 2 FCs of this lodge and Bro. Kitahara, #2 and also regrets had received from Bros Ogawa (Taiki), Kajiwara, Suzuki (Shunji), Tamado, Kim, Taniuchi and WB Buda.
