The 602 Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M. was held at the Masonic Temple located at 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 7th day of July 2012.
A lodge of MM's was opened in due and ancient form at 13:00 hours with WB Sagara, WM in the East, Bro Tsujii, SW in the West and WBro Inomata, JW in the South.
Then, WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tyler's register of this date.
And he announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of July 2012, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meetings. The Secretary read the minutes of Stated Meeting on June 2nd. They were APPROVED AS READ.
The Treasurer's report, Bro Tomio Ogawa, Treasurer reported month of June report and after which he moved and it was seconded that the report accepted as read subject to the usual audit.
MOTION CARRIED.
The Secretary then read the bills for the period after which he moved and it was seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
Next was the report of the several committees: All committee reports were negative with the exception of the following:
CHARITY: Alms in the amount of 8,579 Yen were collected.
RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: None.
BALLOTING FOR PETITION; WM of the Lodge reported that the Committee of Investigation had submitted a favorable report on the petition of Mr. Tatsuro Hayashi and he then elected to receive the degree of masonry in this lodge by ballot of the member present.
CORRESPONDENCE: GL Monthly Bulletin of June 23 and ECM minutes on May 26 had tapped on the Bulletin Board in the Conference room.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS:
Down the Lodge to FC degree and invite all FC brethren into the temple at 13:45 hours.
FC PROFICIENCY EXAMS:
Upon Bros Miyauchi and Kim who had just passed on June meeting and they performed excellent job so that WM declared they are proficient on the FC degree. The Exams had conducted by Bro Tsujii in English.
DOWN THE LODGE TO EA DEGREE:
At 14:00 hours, the Lodge was then further lowered to the First Degree and number of visiting EAs from Tokyo Yuai Lodge #11, accompanied by Master Masons of that lodge, were invited to witness the initiation for their Masonic education and edification.
INITIATION CEREMONY:
At 14:10, by three distinct knock on the door by Bro Candidates and were admitted into the Lodge to obligate Entered Apprentice Mason. Bro Honda gave the Apron Lecture, Working Tool Lecture was by Bro Shunji Suzuki, Degree Lecture by Bro Alawn Jordan and the Charge delivered by WB Inomata. All of them were given in English.
RESUME THE LODGE TO 3RD DEGREE:
After congratulating newly initiated EAs and all FC and EA brethren retired, the lodge resumed MM degree again at 16:30 hours for some unfinished items.
COMING SCHEDULE:
WM Sagara announced that since the month of August will be dark so that our next meeting will be on September 1st. We will schedule to have MM Conferral upon Bros Miyauchi and Kim after the business. Position assignment will be announced shortly.
CLOSING:
VWB Watanabe of Yuai #11 thanked accepting to be a witness of their younger brethren, FC and EAs, to our initiation and invite to their monthly meeting will be held on August 4th (Saturday) starting at 10:00 in the morning and 2nd degree conference in the afternoon.
The WM then announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of MM's and so we would proceed to close. Peace and harmony prevailing, this lodge was closed at 17:00 hours in short form.
We had 17 MMs, 2 FCs and 2 EAs of this lodge and 2 MMs, 1 FC and 4 EAs visited from Yuai Lodge #11. Regrets had received from Bros Tamado and Mukai.
