The 605 Stated Meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M. (SD 36-12) was held at the Masonic Temple located at 77-12 Honmoku Midorigaoka, Naka-ku, Yokohama on the 10th November 2012.
A lodge of MM's was opened in due and ancient form at 13:00 hours with WB Sagara, WM in the East, Bro Tsujii, SW in the West and Bro Yutaro Suzuki, acting JW in the South.
Then, WM recognized the Distinguished Brethren as listed in the Tyler's register of this date.
And he announced that this being our Stated Meeting for the month of November 2012, the first order of business would be the reading of the minutes of our last Stated Meeting and all subsequent Special Meeting. The Secretary read the minutes of Stated Meeting on 6th October and Special Meeting on 27 October. They were APPROVED AS READ.
The Treasurer's report, due to the absence of our Treasurer, Secretary read the October report and after which he moved and it was seconded that the report accepted as read subject to the usual audit. MOTION CARRIED.
The Secretary then read the bills for the period after which he moved and it was seconded that the bills be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
Next was the report of the several committees: All committee reports were negative with the exception of the following:
CHARITY: Alms in the amount of 5,168 yen were collected.
RECEPTION OF PETITIONS: None.
BALLOTING FOR PETITION: None.
CORRESPONDENCE: GL Monthly Bulletin of Oct.24 and draft copy of ECM minutes on October 20 had tapped on the Bulletin Board in the Conference room.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: READING BY LAW: WM read Article II, Section 2 of By-Laws.
NEW BUSINESS:
DONATION as part of our charity activities, after reading a letter from Yokohama International Women's Club, Secretary proposed to donate 50,000 yen for Orphanage Christmas Party sponsored by the said club. By the unanimous affirmative votes by brethren present and the donation granted as proposed.
DEMISSION: We received demit request from Bro Albury and Bro Orvosh, WM declared their demission after listen of Secretary Report on annual dues status and under any charge status on both brethren. Request had granted.
PROFICIENCY TEST: after down the lodge to FC degree, the exams had started upon Bros Wada and Hayashi by Bro Tsujii in English. They had showed a fine job and WM declared they are proficient on FC degree. After they retired from the temple, WM resumed the lodge back to MM degree again and continued business.
COMING SCHEDULE:
ABOUT JANUARY MEETING: The first Saturday of January 2013 is 5th Jan. and been in the New Year Holiday. We discussed the matter and concluded to post pone one week which will be 12 Jan. Also the Lodge's starting time is also amended to 15:00 hours. The Installation Ceremony will starts at 16:00 hours and the Installation Banquet starts at 18:30 hours.
Our Brother Ed Lawson: Bro Secretary reported that one of our senior Brother Ed who is coming back to visit Japan starting on 18 April 2013 and he will visit us on 11 May, second Saturday of May. As 2013 is for his 50 years Anniversary so we will celebrate the 50 yrs Pin presentation.
CLOSING:
The WM announced that there being no further business to come before this Lodge of MM's and so we would proceed to close at 15:15 with WB Sagara, WM in the East, Bro Tsujii, SW in the West, and Bro Yutaro Suzuki, acting JW in the South.
This meeting was attended by 10 Master Masons (plus 2 FCs) and 2 brethren from #11 and one from #3.
Regrets had received from WB Inomata, Bros Martorelli, Tamado, Shunji, Tomio and Taniuchi.
