With today's initiation of two new members, Far East Lodge No. 1 finally cleared the backlog of petitioners waiting to receive the three degrees of Masonry. At the same meeting the Lodge balloted favorably on the application of Mr Hiroshi Komura, and the Brethren can expect to remain busy for some time to come.

Bro Tei | MWB Katagiri

With WB Masaki in the East, WB Buda in the West, and first-time visitor WB Zamora kindly taking the South, Bro Yoshikane Tei and Bro Akihiro Tatara were initiated in due and ancient form. MWB Watanabe acted as Senior Deacon, Bro Wachi presented the Working Tools, MWB Katagiri gave the Lecture of the First Degree and MWB Watanabe delivered the Charge. Immediately after the conferral MWB Watanabe examined Bro Honda in his proficiency in the First Degree. Bro Honda gave a faultless rendition of the obligation and answered all questions promptly and perfectly, setting a very high standard for our two newest Members to emulate.

In other business, the Lodge discussed the upcoming Grand Lodge Annual Communication along with a resolution for amendment of the Constitution.

WB Masaki passed out a written version of the Dress Code he had announced at our last meeting. Copies of this Dress Code are available on this website in both English and Japanese.

WB Masaki | WB Zamora

The Lodge was honored by a visit from WB Don Zamora, the Worshipful Master of Yokosuka Lodge No. 20. WB Masaki welcomed him and invited him to take a seat in the East for the business part of the meeting. During the First Degree conferral WB Zamora graciously agreed to take the South in the absence of WB Herrera. After the conferral WB Zamora said that he had found the Japanese-language parts of the ritual of particular interest, especially the First Degree Lecture. He thanked the Most Worshipful Brethren, Worshipful Brethren and Brethren of Far East Lodge No. 1 for their warm welcome and invited them to visit Yokosuka Lodge No. 20 in the near future.
