As many Brethren will have noticed, the Members Guestbook has not been functioning correctly. It's designed to archive old messages after a fixed number of days, but no matter what figure I enter, the messages are moved every 24 hours.
The funny thing is, the Japanese-language visitors' guestbook, which uses the same software, seems to be working just fine.
After a lot of head-scratching, I'm beginning to think that the problem lies in the way I imported ten or eleven old messages from the first version of the guestbook. This seems to have confused the software as to the date and time these messages were created.
I'm working on a solution to this problem, but until then I've switched to a much simpler and, I hope, more stable guestbook program. All the old messages are back — please add new ones!
