Far East Lodge No. 1 News

May 4, 2004June 8, 2004 December 5, 2004

With the conclusion of the Stated Meeting for June, Far East Lodge No. 1 has now gone dark for the summer months. The brethren will resume labor in September.

At our meeting on Saturday, June 5, Bro. Charles James Jackson, Jr. demonstrated his proficiency in the first degree and was duly passed to the degree of Fellowcraft. It has been many months since our last degree work, and several years since our last second degree. In spite of this, the ritual went very smoothly and when WB Herrera offered the gavel to MWB Katagiri and invited him to close the lodge in short form, the latter complimented the brethren on the excellence of their work.

From mid-June to mid-July our Secretary WB Thomas Hodges will be away from Japan visiting his daughter and granddaughter in California. He will still be in email contact and can be reached either through Far East Lodge No.1 or directly through his personal account.

June 5 was also the last meeting this year for Bro. Jud Buda, our Senior Deacon. Next month he will be travelling to the United States for a year's sabbatical in North Carolina, where he looks forward to making use of the Grand Lodge historical archives in Raleigh and visiting several local lodges.
