The Lodge's newest Fellowcrafts: Bro Yasuyoshi Kajiwara and Bro Mamoru Sato
MWB Katagiri, the Treasurer of the Lodge, suffered a slight fall a few days before our November meeting and was unable to attend. His doctor informed him that, although no serious injuries had been suffered, a month's convalescence was advised. In the absence of MWB Katagiri, the Secretary read the Treasurer's Report, which was approved subject to the usual audit. In addition to approving the payment of the Lodge's due debts, the Brethren also approved a 25,000 yen contribution to the annual Orphans' Christmas Party sponsored by the Yokohama International Women's Club, with Lodge Star in the East contributing an equal sum.
After taking care of most items of business, WB Buda lowered the Lodge to the First Degree for the purpose of testing Bro Jordan in his proficiency in that degree. The examination was conducted in English by Bro Sneathern and at its conclusion WB Buda congratulated Bro Jordan on a fine performance and declared him fully proficent. We hope to confer the Second Degree of Masonry on Bro Jordan at a Special Meeting scheduled for Saturday, 22 November 2008.

The highlight of our November Meeting was the conferral of the Second Degree upon Bro Mamoru Sato and Bro Yasuyoshi Kajiwara. Bro Honda conducted the candidates as SD, Bro Sagara gave the Obligation, and Bro Suzuki presented the Working Tools, all in Japanese. In the Second Section of the Degree, MWB Watanabe conducted the Candidates as acting SD and gave the Staircase Lecture. Bro Honda took the East and presented the G Lecture. MWB Watanabe delivered the Charge.
There was active discussion of the Lodge's schedule for the next three months, and Brethren brought news of other Masonic activities of note, such as the annual cleaning of Masonic graves in the Yokohama Foreign Cemetery.

At the conclusion of the meeting, WB Buda expressed his pleasure at seeing WB Herrera back in Lodge and hoped that WB Rudy's hard work schedule would permit him to join us again before long.
At 16:50 the Lodge was closed in short form, with the Brethren departing in Peace, Harmony and Brotherly Love.
