A Special Meeting for the purpose of conferring the First Degree of Masonry on Mr. Kevin Adams was held on 28 March, and was attended by a gratifyingly large number of Brethren and Visitors.

Bro Philip McKenzie, Right Worshipful Master of Lodge Star in the East No. 640, was accompanied by Bro Isamu Ozaki and Bro Gabriel Balea, Treasurer and Junior Deacon of that lodge.

In the Second Section, Bro Sneathern presented the Lecture of the First Degree.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Bro McKenzie thanked the WM and Brethren of Far East Lodge No. 1 for welcoming him and the other members of his lodge to the meeting. They had all been fascinated by some of the differences between the way the degree was worked in the two lodges. He brought greetings from all the members of Lodge Star in the East No. 640 and hoped that the warm fraternal relations between the two lodges would continue.

This being a Special Meeting, there were no items of other business and the Lodge was closed shortly after 4 pm. The next meeting of the Lodge will be in one week's time. Our Stated Meeting for April will be devoted to business only, and we shall be welcoming Bro Ed Lawson, a distinguished member of the lodge who has been resident the United States for many years and has arranged one of his infrequent visits to Japan to coincide with a meeting of Far East Lodge No. 1.
